The Production Manager oversees operation of a vegan cheese manufacturing plant to ensure smooth operations, adequate inventory of finished product and raw materials, adherence to food safety and work place safety procedures, quality assurance and information flow to management.Report to General ManagerWill supervise about 20 employeesFull time, on-site presence is requiredSpecific Responsibilities:•Direct supervision of factory staff •Production scheduling•Assignment of factory staff and resources to meet production requirements•Monitoring and maintenance of inventory of finished product, ingredients and packaging•Responsible for management and record keeping of food safety and work place safety•Participate in food safety team meetings•Training staff on procedures, use of equipment, food safety and work place safety•Monitoring intermediate and final products for physical, organoleptic and microbiological properties to assure quality and food safety•Oversight of preventative maintenance of plant•Comprehensive reporting to managementRequirements:•Understanding and command of food safety and work place safety standards•Command of MS Office, Dropbox, Google Docs, Google Forms, Google Sheets•Strong organizational skills•Strong attention to detail•Ability to manage diverse labor force•Willingness to take responsibility •Flexibility in addressing a variety of tasksPreferred:•Fluency in English and Spanish•Experience with food safety plans and implementation in SQF certified food manufacturing facility•HACCP certification•Familiarity with Food Safety Modernization Act and OSHA•Four year bachelor’s degree
