Job Summary PACCAR's Global Electronics department, which serves both Kenworth, Peterbilt, and other global class leading brands, has an opening for an Electronics Hardware Engineer. This role is responsible for developing processes and managing issues from manufacturing and the field that are integrated with existing PACCAR Electronics Engineering processes to ensure accurate prioritization and timely resolution of defects. Core responsibilities are control system hardware and basic software for all systems under Embedded Engineering's control. Develop standard reports to track progress and performance of issue resolution. Job Functions / Responsibilities Analyze electrical and electronic components and systems issues on heavy and medium duty PACCAR vehicles that are found during manufacturing and in the field. Core responsibilities are control system hardware and basic software for all systems under the control of the PACCAR Electronics Organization. Develop standard reports to track progress and performance of issue resolution. Interface with manufacturing and field service organizations to establish priority of defects and defect resolution within existing PACCAR Electronics processes. Complete engineering change notice documentation to manage old and new parts and use proprietary software to issue part bid requests for hardware and basic software. Plan and track validation of defect resolution and reports to stakeholders. Ensure industry-leading quality and reliability are met/maintained/exceeded on all components. Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team with mechanical engineers, manufacturing engineers, and other professionals to ensure quality heavy-duty truck electrical designs. Demonstrated teamwork, mentoring, collaboration, and cross-functional communication skills. Investigate and resolve warranty issues for power train electrical-related claims. Up to 15% travel. Qualifications & Skills Required B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree required. 4+ years of experience in the automotive or commercial vehicle electrical systems components, electronic controls, switches, driver input devices, and/or HMI. Experience with tier 1 supplier management, selection, hardware development, validation, and release. Strong technical project management, planning, tracking and reporting skills. Embedded electronics component technical requirement specification development and execution. Ability to work in a fast-paced, lean, collaborative team environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Competency with standard business software tools (word processing, spreadsheets, etc.). Able to learn and use new processes and techniques and resourcefully solve complex technical issues. Desired Experience interpreting system schematics, wiring diagrams, and subsystem block diagrams. Proficiency in using Engineering tools (Pro-Engineer, Mentor Graphics, Matlab/Simulink, Rhapsody). Familiarity with automotive communication SAE J1939 CAN and ISO 17987 LIN Protocol. Awareness of automotive, medium, and heavy-duty commercial truck regulations. E
