Job Title: Production Supervisor – Intermediate

Location: Kokomo IN 46902

Pay Rate: $25-$29/hour

Duration: 12 Months (Possible of extension based on business needs)

Job Summary:

The Production Supervisor - Intermediate is responsible for managing small work teams in a fast-paced, high-volume, unionized manufacturing environment. The role focuses on achieving production goals, driving continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring workplace safety, and maintaining quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and problem-solving skills to guide teams and mobilize resources effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure the production plan is met and analyse issues to drive and implement continuous improvement activities.

• Maintain a safe workplace, enforce safety procedures, and lead safety improvement initiatives.

• Understand and address production losses, leveraging tools such as the C-Matrix to improve Zone performance.

• Analyse quality KPIs, prioritize quality issues, and guide Team Leaders to resolve them.

• Manage workforce allocation, absenteeism, and training to build effective teams.

• Mobilize support groups and resources for problem-solving activities.

• Actively participate in and lead Kaizen projects focused on Safety, Cost, Quality, Throughput, and waste reduction.

Requirements:

• Education: High school diploma or GED required.

• Experience:

o Minimum 2 years of supervisory and manufacturing experience.

o Experience in high-volume manufacturing and lean/continuous improvement systems preferred.

o Previous experience in a unionized environment is a plus.

• Skills and Competencies:

o Excellent organizational, written, and oral communication skills.

o Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interface at all organizational levels.

o Goal-oriented self-starter capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously.

o Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite software programs.

o Ability to coach, mentor, and develop team members.

• Other Requirements:

o Valid driver’s license.

o Flexibility to work any shift and overtime as needed.

o Physical ability to meet manufacturing general requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field.

• Experience in supervision within a high-volume manufacturing environment.

Physical Requirements:

• Work different shifts and weekends, including overtime.

• Work in hot and/or cold environments and around heavy equipment or machinery.

• Wear safety equipment, including safety glasses, sleeves, earplugs, and steel-toed shoes.

• Stand or walk for extended periods; bend, stoop, reach, and lift to 40 pounds.

• Work in confined spaces and regularly climb ladders, stairs, or crawl under vehicles.
