Job purpose
The Configuration Engineer role is responsible for all aspects of Systems Configuration Management in development of traction inverters for electric vehicles. This position works closely with Systems Development Lead and Systems Project Lead roles to form the core of System Lead group.
The Configuration Engineer role coordinates and approves product baselines to ensure project completeness and manages traceability of the product configuration.
Key responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and ensure adherence to configuration management plans
Execution of the configuration management processes according to the BorgWarner process framework
Identify configuration items, create product structure, and define system release configurations
Interface with customer, internal functions to establish configuration item reviews and configuration baselines
Assist the project leads in preparing initial project infrastructure
Maintain configuration management infrastructure and documentation
Track, evaluate and report configuration management status
Execute the product configuration management to ensure control of the configuration items from requirement analysis thru product delivery
Participate in internal and external international project teams
Support production during integration phase
Review process effectiveness and efficiency
Perform process audits and drive continual process improvement
What we’re looking for
Bachelor’s in Electrical, Mechatronics or Software Engineering. Master’s degree in related technical field preferred
Experience in Systems Engineering is preferred
Experience in A-SPICE or EIA-649C is required
Knowledge of Polarion, JIRA or similar tools
Understanding of power electronics, electric motors and controls
Understanding of effort estimation and work tracking
Fluency in English is required. German and/or French would be an advantage
Good at coaching people and fostering a team approach
Global Experience working with multiple regions and multiple cultures
Experience in development of propulsion system, power electronics, motors or engines is an asset

Recruitment process
CV Review - Your application and CV will be reviewed to assess your qualifications and experience in relation to the role requirements.
Phone Interview (approximately 30 minutes) - This initial conversation is designed to discuss your background, expectations, and answer any preliminary questions.
Technical Interview(s) (1 to 1.5 hours, one or two rounds) - Conducted in English with the manager and an additional team member, this stage focuses on evaluating your technical knowledge and problem-solving skills. The interview can be held via Teams or at our office.
Final Interview (45 minutes) - A meeting with a representative from the HR department to ensure alignment with our company culture and discuss the next steps. This interview might also take place via Teams or at our office.
