Security Officer II
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
US site Security Officer II, assigned to uniformed patrol, supports the US security organization by assisting the site security manager in developing, implementing, and managing the strategic and tactical planning for sites security services. Security officer II may assist the security manager with overseeing a team of direct reports to reduce risks, respond to incidents, and limit exposure to liability to reduce financial loss to the organization. Identifies significant security risks, designs and implements strategies and programs to prevent and reduce loss of assets. Coordinates and implements site security, operations and activities to ensure protection of employees, physical assets, intellectual properties and information assets, while ensuring optimal use of personnel and equipment. Develops and implements policies, procedures, standards, training and methods for identifying and protecting intellectual property assets, personnel, property, facilities, operations, or material from unauthorized disclosure, misuse, theft, assault, vandalism, product tampering, espionage, sabotage, or financial loss. Maintains close relationships with high level law enforcement, intelligence and private sector counterparts. The manager must possess exceptional communication skills to support briefings to senior management regarding site security strategy.
The primary responsibilities of this role, Security Officer II, are to:
Serve when directed as an acting team Supervisor of security professionals responsible for overall security programs to protect people and property;
Demonstrated ability to manage contract, proprietary or a hybrid security force;
In collaboration with the US site security manager provide updates, recommendations, and best practices to US security management in the development of security initiatives within the geography of responsibility;
Administrative operations, scheduling and staffing to maintain consistency, continuity, oversight and coordination of processes, programs and work hours of security personnel;
Review all expense reports and expense related documents prior to security managerial approval;
Manage the paper and electronic files associated with the scope and responsibilities of US Security personnel;
Develop and implement policies, procedures, standards, training and methods of site security operations;
Coordinates and implements site security, operations and activities to ensure protection of employees, physical assets, intellectual properties and information;
Position entails driving a company vehicle (pooled or assigned to the individual). This may include being required to drive greater than 8,500 business miles annually in a company supplied vehicle OR being expected to frequently drive a pooled car as part of your job duties – regardless of mileage.
WHO YOU ARE
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED with five years of relevant law enforcement, military and/or security experience;
Must be a communicator in all aspects written, verbal, and able to present and lead large groups;
Understanding of physical asset protection philosophies, and personal protection concepts and theories;
Recognize the importance of maintaining strict confidentiality of sensitive information;
Ability to process voluminous amounts of information and convert it into clear and concise reports, and present the information verbally;
The ability to work autonomously and with limited supervision;
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
The ability to prepare clear, succinct, accurate, professional and timely written communications;
The ability to obtain and maintain the State of Hawaii "Guard Card" according to the State of Hawaii HRS 463-10.5 prior to start date;
Experienced in basic computer skills;
Able to work rotating shifts and available for overtime, weekends, and holiday shifts;
The ability to work in excess of the normal eight-hour day when necessary;
The ability to maintain all certifications and training as required by jurisdiction of authority and possess a valid driver's license;
Valid Drivers License. In order to be eligible to drive a company car, your driving record must meet guidelines based on the company’s Risk Screening for Hiring Drivers – MVR will be reviewed as part of pre-employment screening;
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree;
Training in emergency management / response.
Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $50,855.20 and $76,282.80. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant's location, market data/ranges, an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
