Summary:ATS is seeking aReliability Specialistto support the refinery inTyler, TX.
Responsibilities/Duties:
The primary duty of the Reliability Specialist is to facilitate the success of the Operators in the area(s) to which are assigned. This support consists of enabling the operators to better understand, detect and respond to equipment problems, as well as addressing minor equipment issues in an immediate/timely manner where possible, thus avoiding more substantial and expensive repairs at a later date.
Train operators what to look for when performing operator rounds with their machinery, how to detect machinery problems and how to manage problems when they are discovered. Where intervention is required train the operator with the correct response.
Train operators on equipment operating principles, lubrication requirements and methods and inspection techniques in small group settings, at the equipment, where needed and appropriate.
Assist in troubleshooting equipment issues, and guiding operators to determine the correct course of action to remedy equipment issues.
Train and instruct Operators to perform immediate ad-hoc adjustments or repairs where appropriate.
Document OTJ training of operators with performing minor maintenance or making adjustments.
Document these ad-hoc repairs where appropriate and value added
Instruct and train operators in creation of work notifications where needed to ensure the highest possible quality of information provided to maintenance resources
Collaborate with the Operators to monitor previously reported issues and assist in escalation of the issue where appropriate
Act as a resource for the Maintenance Planner where needed to assist in scoping future work
Advise Operators on needed make ready activities being performed in support of future maintenance work if required.
Participate in and/or Lead Root Cause Failure Analysis efforts Ensuring Appropriate Collaboration with Operators
Assist in Skill Building of Operators in support of the Operator Care Program: Clean
Lubricate
Adjust
Inspect
Repair
Participate in the Review Metrics and Performance Data with Operators and Help Identify Common Causes and Improvement Opportunities
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
The Reliability Specialist is a Subject Matter Expert with machinery and is knowledgeable and experienced with machinery design, lubrication systems, vibration analysis, machinery repair, preventive and predictive maintenance systems and techniques.
Exceptional Face to Face Communication Skills
Willingness to Communicate with and Train Operators at the Front Line on a Routine Basis
High Level of Proficiency in SAP, Particularly in Documenting Work/Needs in both Work Orders and Notifications
Ability to Perform Technical Research in Manuals, Drawings, interface with Vendors, etc. and Summarize Findings back to the Operators where it can better help them perform their Duties
Ability to Troubleshoot Problems and Lead/Participate in Root Cause Failure Analysis Efforts
The Ability to be Autonomous and Self-Directing in the Performance of Their Duties
A Customer Service Mindset in Relation to the Operators which they Support
Work Conditions:
Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection.
Work in around operating equipment and industrial environments.
Work shifts up to 12 hours/day and 7 days/week and travel for extended periods of time
Ability to lift and carry 100 pounds.
