The Recreation Superintendent will oversee the development, implementation, and supervision of a wide range of recreational and aquatic programs and services that meet the needs of the Lake Havasu City community. The ideal candidate will be a creative, forward-thinking leader with a strong background in program management, staff development, and community engagement. They will possess a keen understanding of recreation trends and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service. They will have extensive experience in managing programs, budgeting, staff training, and strategic planning. The ideal candidate will have the ability to analyze community needs, develop new programs, and evaluate existing ones to ensure high-quality offerings that enhance residents quality of life. The ideal candidate will also demonstrate strong communication and organizational skills, and a proven ability to collaborate with various stakeholders to promote and expand recreational and leisure opportunities.

General Definition of Work

Performs difficult advanced technical work coordinating and developing programs for the Recreation and Aquatics Divisions. Prepares and manages the divisional budget, monitoring revenue and expenditures. collaborates with other divisions/departments and City officials, preparing and maintaining records and reports, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the general direction of the Director of Parks and Recreation. Supervision is exercised over the Aquatics Supervisor and Program Coordinators.
