Otter Tail Corporation Lead Lineman in Lake Preston, South Dakota

Description

We have an opening for a Lead Lineman in Lake Preston, SD.

Supervise, direct and work with the crew to erect and install, maintain or repair overhead and underground electrical distribution and transmission systems and substations; where necessary, frame and erect poles and attach necessary fixtures and equipment; string, sag and splice conductors (wires) and connect transformer and other equipment; trim trees, replace such equipment as broken insulators, split crossarms, cutouts, ties, faulty clamps or braces; and perform similar replacement or repair work as necessary on routine patrol or to clear up storm damage. Use electrical instruments, operate hydraulic equipment and work out of an aerial basket. Perform such other related work as may be assigned. This sentence does not supersede the provisions of the Labor Agreement. Perform these and such other related work in a manner consistent with all company safety rules and use equipment and protection as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have positive leadership qualities and show an ability to plan, supervise and work with people and tools. Must have an interest in teaching people working on the crew the lineman trade. Must have a thorough knowledge of electric line and underground construction, maintenance and repair; must be able to work outdoors in any weather, able to climb, understand the mechanical equipment used in the trade, and has shown the ability to get along well with others.
