Are you a visionary engineer with a passion for designing cutting-edge electronics?  CAES is seeking a talented Electrical Design Engineer to join our innovative team in Lancaster, PA.  At CAES, we drive advancements in technology and engieering, creating solutions that impact the world. In this role the Electronics Design Engineer provides technical contributions and subject matter leadership throughout the entire product development lifecycle to ultimately ensure successful production qualification of a given program.  This role is responsible for completing all assigned, assumed, and cascading tasks within allotted timelines.  The Design Engineer works collaboratively with other Design Engineers, Systems Engineers, and Project Engineers to ensure all contractual elements of a given program are satisfied and to help ensure all project requirements are maintained throughout the development process. An ideal candidate applies multi-discipline technical knowledge to leverage their formal education, training, creativity, supporting skill sets, and prior work experience to innovate, iterate, document, and continuously reduce project risks.  Product lines supported will include Transponders, Encoders, Flight Terminators, Interrogators, Altimeters, and other related embedded electronic sub-systems.  This position is expected to operate independently with nominal management oversight as an individual contributor, as a technical specialist, as a project team member, and as a collaborative mentor for other engineering staff. Responsibilities

Develop and incorporate traceable hardware requirements, software requirements, use cases, and acceptance test procedures into design deliverables. Support the creation of project documentation such as work estimates, project plans, work breakdown schedules, specifications, interface control documents, acceptance test procedures, and other development deliverables. Support risk reduction planning, journalize development rationale information, and secure project artifacts using designated enterprise database tools and storage systems. Support and materially participate in the development of simulations, proof-of-concept prototypes, functional prototypes, limited run production, and the qualification of production units. Perform related or other supporting engineering work assignments as business needs require. Travel infrequently to off-site locations as needed (0-10%). Salary Range min/max: Product Development Engineer III: $ 96,376.1 - 144,564.18 Product Development Engineer IV: $ 110,832.54 - 166,248.81. Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate. Qualifications

Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering Five (5) years of working knowledge of electronics systems and electronics manufacturing. Five (5) years knowledge of electronic circuits (microprocessor, FPGA, A/D D/A conversion, power, analog signal processing, AC/DC converters, etc.) including an understanding of AC/DC circuit analysis and theory Experience with firmware coding (VHDL, Verilog, C, LabVIEW, etc.) Three (3) years working knowledge of LT Spice or any other SPICE programs (PSpice, etc.) Three (3) years of experienc with schematic capture and review (Altium, OrCAD, Diptrace, etc.) This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export laws. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a "US Person" under US export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license). Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance Preferred Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering Five - Eight (5-8) years of experience with electronics systems and electronics manufacturing Working knowledge of RF (Scattering Parameters, RF Amplifiers, Filters, Antennas, etc.) Working knowledge of Microwave Office or equivalent Working Knowledge of CST Suite Studio or equivalent Working Knowledge of PCB Layout (Altium, Cadence, Pads, etc.) Working knowledge of test equipment and techniques used to interrogate PCB assemblies including Power Meters, Signal Generators, Spectrum and Vector Analyzers. Working knowledge of the techniques and process for performing layout and assembly of PCBs. Operate hands-on in a lab environment Experience operating within stage-gate, structured product development environments. Proven analytical root cause analysis capabilities and advanced problem-solving ability. Demonstratable self-directed functional task management and strong attention to detail. Ability to work under deadlines and constraints while multitasking across different programs Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, etc.) Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills in English
