Location Description Our plant, located in Lansing, IL, pasteurizes raw eggs to remove harmful bacteria for a more safe product to the foodservice industry. Responsibilities POSITION SUMMARY: The Plant Superintendent will have the responsibility for meeting line objectives related to production KPI’s, safety, quality, personnel matters, and enforcement of company policy. This includes assisting with continuous improvement throughout the facility and the development of individuals within their organization. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Directly supervises and coordinates salaried supervisor and hourly roles including goal setting, evaluating performance, hiring and terminating. Schedules and supervises manufacturing resources to meet production goals established by operations management in alignment with business goals and objectives. Assures production activities are in compliance with company policies and procedures to include environmental, quality control standards and safety compliance. Ensures a safe work environment is maintained or improved throughout the plant. Schedules staff and assigns duties to meet production needs. Develops and administers material and labor usage controls. Implements employee relations programs with the objective of improving employee engagement and morale. Participates in production equipment maintenance program (as needed) including evaluation of predictive maintenance data, scheduling PM activities. Responds to unexpected interruptions in the production process. Maintains inventories of production supplies. Human resource concepts and procedures to include executing onboarding, retention, training employee relations plans. Federal, state and local laws, rules, and regulations related to food processing Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience. 5+ years’ experience in processing and supervision. PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: Experience with continuous manufacturing processes. Preventative and predictive maintenance program experience. Experience working collaboratively with all levels of employees. Experience with developing and implementing a positive employee relations process. Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Ability to be on call and work extended or after hours as needed. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must have excellent communication, interpersonal and teaming skills. Ability to prioritize and follow directions with little/no supervision. Must have strong organizational skills and ability to do multi-functional tasks. Must be able to work overtime and/or weekends when required Bi-lingual (Spanish-English) is a plus.
