Functions as the secondary source of instruction in the Aviation Maintenance Lab to support instruction provided by the instructor of record. Assists students in completing lab projects by providing necessary instruction. Provides evaluation of student performance as requested by the instructor of record. Ensures that the lab/workshop is set-up and prepared with all required tools and materials for the assigned class and planned instruction. Coordinates the maintenance of supplies, tools, equipment and facilities. In addition to the responsibilities listed above, Lab Assistants may be required to perform other duties as assigned in connection with the overall operation of the Aviation Maintenance Program. Must effectively communicate and demonstrate knowledge of specific technical skills in the lab to a diverse student population. Must collaborate with students and peers in order to establish a safe environment where safety is not compromised. The successful candidate will demonstrate knowledge of airframe, engine and general aviation topics.

Regular on campus presence is expected for all LCC employment. Any flexible work schedules and/or hybrid work schedules approved by the College are subject to change based on the needs of the LCC community.
