Pearl Interactive Network Payroll Manager in Lansing, Michigan
Pearl Interactive Network is sourcing to hire a Payroll Manager for a remote/hybrid workforce.
The Payroll Manager is responsible for overseeing and directing payroll procedures, ensuring compliance with local, state and federal laws and tax obligations, and ongoing maintenance of accurate payroll records.

Operating Hours: 8 am - 5 pm EST, Monday - Friday

Job Duties:
Manage and oversee the accurate processing and calculation of salary payments, benefits, and deductions for over 1,000 employees on semi-monthly payroll schedule.
Oversee up to 2 (two) direct reports.
Coordinate timekeeping and payroll systems.
Maintain accurate records of payroll documentation and transactions.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations related to payroll and taxes.
Address issues and questions regarding payroll from employees and upper management.
Work with Timekeeping admin and OPS admin to ensure correction timecards are done correctly and timely.
Manually changes all OT hours on all T&M contracts to ensure they are billed properly.
Responsible for calculating and posting all benefit allocations upon anniversary dates for corporate employees.
Process and posts weekly PTO benefit accruals and ensures employees PTO/SICK balances are brought to 0 once termed, if not eligible for PTO payout.
Monitor timeline reports to ensure all errors are addressed and corrected.
Investigate withholding and unemployment tax discrepancies with various state agencies.
Manage 401k elections, changes and processes 401k distribution requests.
Provide ad hoc reports for finance and operations as requested.
Assists with financial, worker compensation, and other audits as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration or accounting field preferred.
Minimum 5 years of payroll management experience.
Government contracting experience.
Experience managing multiple classifications of employees (i.e. hourly, salary, contract)
Multi-state payroll processing experience preferred.
Proficiency with ADP payroll software and Deltek/Costpoint timekeeping software.
Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
Knowledgeable and adept in processing withholding and unemployment tax filings and troubleshooting discrepancies.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail, is a MUST.
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
Strong time management skills with the ability to quickly assess priorities and adjust as needed.
Previous supervisory, or team lead experience with excellent communication skills is a plus.
