Description:

The Senior Database Administrator should be able to diagnose and resolve challenging problems quickly. You will be responsible for DBA support and SQL development for both on-premises data center and cloud-based systems. The Senior Database Administrator handles technical escalations from help desk staff and supports our employees and contractors with these escalations. Your goal will be to ensure that our production data runs smoothly and efficiently. This position will be remote, team wants a strong Postgres/AWS resource in regards to Aurora/RDS services, looking for a strong Senior DBA, someone strong with partitioning, AWS, Postgres, and SQL Server, there’s some migration work entailed with high availability projects where there might be some PowerBI/MongoDB/Elastic Search/Linux.

Due to client requirement, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.

Rate: $70 - $78 / hr. w2

• Looking for someone solid with Aurora Postgres, MS SQL, My SQL and Oracle. who has strength in that order of databases.

• Hoping to find an amazing candidate here with strong experience in security, transactional databases as they have customers with over a million transactions/day at times.

• Team needs someone who will get their hands dirty and jump in and help the team- of currently 3 other Database developers / DBAs who support each other and collaborate. This is a 24/7 job.

ABOUT THE ROLE -

**Remote Position: Work from anywhere in the USA, this is a 100% remote role with a great team, we won't micromanage, but expectations will be high and work will go by fast, we need someone who can stay engaged and work closely with people both in IT and non technical to meet our missions / business goals

**Collaborative Environment: Partner with Software Engineers, Managers, DevOps, and more to manage multiple high transaction database instances (Postgres, MS SQL, MySQL, Oracle, Aurora on AWS)

**Diverse Technologies: Work to develop scripts, data retention policies, and implement tools for dev, UAT for a company built to transform data, relationships, and the life sciences industry through comprehensive solutions aimed on making a positive impact towards our clients.

**Manage high transaction database instances, optimize queries, review code objects

**Ensure performance, monitoring, backup, recovery, and scrubbing policies.

Experience Requirements:

Required Skills:

**Strong SQL / DBA proficiency (8+ years of experience with stored procedures, triggers, views, tuning), you’ll be working alongside developers who have been known to handle over a million transactions a day at times

**Extensive experience with Postgres, Microsoft SQL Server, or MySQL – with a desire to learn MongoDB, ElasticSearch, Neo4J, and other databases in AWS

**Strong communication/multitasking skills, ability to work within Cloud services, CICD practices, data modeling, and occasional BI tools / integration / reporting software packages such as PowerBI/SSIS/ETL tools
