Amentum Maintenance Supervisor (Heavy) in Las Vegas, Nevada
Amentum is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor in Las Vegas, NV.
The Maintenance Supervisor, Airlift, functioning in an airlift terminal and flight line environment, oversees and coordinates the work effort of assigned subordinate maintenance personnel in support of the unit’s daily flying operations.
The position is primarily assigned as the Heavy Maintenance Supervisor. The position accompanies assigned aircraft for all heavy maintenance checks, usually up to 3 times a year, for 30-45 days at a time. All heavy maintenance checks are performed at a contracted MRO facility outside the local area.
Essential Responsibilities:
Plans, schedules, and coordinates subordinate time and daily flight-line work operations.
Evaluates and documents employee performance.
Makes recommendations to higher level supervision or management concerning hires, promotions, raises, and terminations.
May interview prospective employees.
Responsible for employee productivity on a day-to-day basis.
Plans and carries out the training and development of employees within the group.
Counsels and advises employees.
Writes reports and completes other routine correspondence.
Must communicate effectively with customers as a representative of the company.
Participates in advisory groups concerning training and management.
Implements technical and procedural guidelines for performance of work in the group.
Communicates with technical or administrative specialists.
Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
Must have a valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant license and 6 years heavy aircraft maintenance experience, 2 years of which will be at a heavy maintenance facility or overseeing heavy maintenance checks.
In addition, must possess thorough knowledge of aircraft maintenance manuals, FAA regulation and company policies and procedures.
Must possess a base of knowledge sufficient to oversee the performance of technically diverse tasks assigned to the maintenance department.
Must have a working knowledge of management techniques and interpersonal skills sufficient to interface with and effectively direct subordinates.
Maintenance Inspector and/or Maintenance Quality Assurance Evaluator experience highly desired.
This knowledge and these skills may be obtained by graduation from a two to four-year technical institute or college or possess equivalent formal technical training or military equivalent in a directly related technical working environment.
Must qualify for and maintain a government security clearance and work location access.
Possess a valid state issued driver’s license.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
Work is primarily sedentary with some walking, bending, and stooping in order to move about the station to coordinate the daily airlift operation. Work may require travel to remote locations. The weight of items lifted normally does not exceed 50 pounds. Work is primarily conducted in an office environment with some flight line activity required. On occasion, work is performed on Company aircraft. There is occasional exposure to flight line hazards, noise and equipment operations.
