SUMMARY: Responsible for assisting in procurement of all goods and services vital to the company's operational needs. Responsible for obtaining the highest quality goods at the lowest cost. Responsible for the creation and electronic delivery of Purchase Orders to appropriate approved vendor; this requires product research, writing requests for bids, and evaluating information received.

MINIMUM/PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum two years purchasing or related experience required.
  • Self-starter who is both a team player and capable of working independently and can also exercise good judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Knowledge of common weights and measures.
  • Prior experience working with suppliers within the Las Vegas market preferred.
  • Prior experience coordinating, specifying, and bidding items for multiple properties or as an enterprise entity preferred.
  • Ability to deal with internal and external customers and work in fast paced environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Computer literate with existing or comparable purchasing system and Microsoft Office programs.
  • Working knowledge of MMS/Stratton Warren purchasing system preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelors degree preferred.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

  • Prepares and processes purchase orders on MMS system to comply with established purchasing procedures and guidelines.
  • Manages purchase requests for supplier bids, quotes and proposals.
  • Ensures that all merchandise purchased is supported with appropriate documentation, prudent pricing, and reasonable quantities.
  • Ensures that all procurement programs, policies and procedures are followed.
  • Responsible for the timely purchase of requested goods and services.
  • Adheres to corporate approved vendor and product list.
  • Maintains current and up-to-date product specifications.
  • Conveys all new product needs to purchasing department leadership.
  • Troubleshoots any product problems or vendor discrepancies.
  • Updates savings sheet as directed.
  • Manages supplier qualification, RFP, supplier selection, compliance and ongoing supply management process.
  • Resolves disputes with suppliers.
  • Other duties as assigned.
