MANUFACTURING ENGINEER

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE MANUFACTURING ENGINEER Provides input into the purchase, modification, and improvement of varied steel making equipment. Work closely with vendors and internal staff to develop project scope, timeline and budget. Manage engineering projects on time, on budget, and on deliverables. Work with operations, maintenance, and technical groups to prioritize capital investment that improve reliability, increase capacity, and eliminate waste. Completes standard engineering & design work related to the installation and retrofit of equipment. Provides day-to-day equipment troubleshooting support to Maintenance. May specialize in one of the following disciplines: Electrical, Mechanical, Civil and Combustion. Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.

REQUIRED FOR THE MANUFACTURING ENGINEER Four-year college degree required. Three or more years of relevant experience required. Ability to work in a production-oriented environment. Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and make appropriate decisions. Ability to perform independent work on larger assignments requiring experience and independent judgment and under supervision of higher-level engineer, supervisor, or manager. Design skills. Problem solving skills. Ability to manage subsets of projects. Ability to apply engineering discipline training in the design of equipment and fabrications. Ability to direct outside consultants, contractors, and material suppliers.
