Charm Sciences Inventory Assistant in Lawrence, Massachusetts

Overview The Inventory Assistant is an administrative support role, which is an overtime-eligible position that reports to the Materials Manager. The Inventory Assistant is responsible for helping manage the inventory by processing receipts, logging items that have been received and items taken from inventory, labeling, and physically moving product within the warehouse. Essential Functions Compile inventory information and present it to management for effective decision-making. Conduct cycle count inventory processes to ensure accurate and timely execution. Schedule categories for cycle count inventory and maintain strict records, perform periodic safety stock inspections to ensure all inventory processes are carried out according to requirements. Work with other teams including sales, shipping, and purchasing. Accurately input data to the inventory system and perform research and analysis to assist with resolution of inventory problems. At times, the inventory assistant will physically unload and load inventory trucks and place items within their proper place in the inventory room or warehouse. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required: High school diploma/GED equivalent or higher. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure. 5 years experience in production, manufacturing, or inventory fields. Excel and Word Knowledge. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to work during required hours of 8:00am until 5:00 pm unless scheduled overtime by the Supervisor. Must have a valid drivers license because some travel is required between three facilities. Preferred: Inventory software knowledge (Syteline, MRP, or ERP systems). Experience in materials management and operations, including cycle counting. Physical Requirements Able to lift 50 pounds occasionally. Able to move about the inside warehouse as well as between the facilities. This person will spend long hours sitting, using office equipment such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer, which can cause muscle strain. There are several deadlines associated with this position, which may cause significant stress. Push, pull, carry, or maneuver heavier items with additional labor or appropriate devices. Able to function in extreme hot and cold weather and non-weather conditions, such as freezers. We are an equal employment opportunity employer.
