Job Summary:

The Continuous Improvement Quality Inspector will perform quality evaluations of products and processes to ensure compliance with the requirements and standards of our Quality Management System. Responsible for leading projects and improving manufacturing processes utilizing Continuous Improvement techniques and principles to reduce waste, improve productivity, and increase enterprise value.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Inspects and tests materials, equipment, processes, and products to ensure quality specifications are met.

  • Performs Process Audits (Torque, Marking, Handling, etc.).

  • Manages Nonconformance Dispositions including Rework/Scrap/RTV.

  • Performs internal audits of processes to ensure compliance with requirements.

  • Manages Quality Alerts and Product Deviations in assigned areas.

  • Completes First Article Inspections in coordination with New Product Development.

  • Oversight of 6S Checklists.

  • Performs 6S Assessments.

  • Manages 6S & CI Cards.

  • Champions Lean & Continuous Improvement projects.

  • Leads and facilitates Kaizen Events.

  • Trains on Continuous Improvement techniques.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Ability to read engineering blueprints

  • Ability to use various types of measurement systems and inspection tools and learn new ones as needed.

  • Close attention to detail.

  • Basic computer operation skills.

  • Basic understanding and ability to use Microsoft Office and similar software products.

  • Works as a self-starter with minimal supervision.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree preferred.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in working in a manufacturing environment.

  • 5 years of experience in product and process evaluation preferred.

  • 3 years of experience in using various measurement tools and systems preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking through the factory.

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on computers.

  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.

  • Visual acuity to inspect products and machinery.
