U.S. Army Joint Munitions Command Electronic Measurement Equipment Worker in Letterkenny Army Depot, Pennsylvania

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base (DIB) & Major Range and Test Facilities Base (MRTFB) in DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Located in the Letterkenny Munitions Center Chambersburg, PA. Responsibilities Work independently on routine and repetitive assignments such as maintaining, troubleshooting, testing, repairing problems and disassembly/ assembling, of complete missile assemblies, components and other equipment. Perform a variety of duties such as identifying, isolating, repairing and fabricating electronics components and equipment that is of limited complexity. Perform various repair, modification, reconditioning, and installation duties to maintain in proper working condition a variety of special and commercial types of electronic test equipment. Work independently on routine and repetitive assignments. Assist higher grade employees in the more complex overhaul, troubleshooting, repair, install, modification, disassembly/assembly, alignment, and maintenance of complete missile assembly thru component level communication-electronic components, etc Perform the more simple tasks such as removing and replacing defective components, modules, and assemblies that have been identified by Electronics Mechanics as being defective. Operate automatic test equipment which has been programmed to a type of electronic, electrical or electro-mechanical component such as chasses, circuit cards, cables or cable harnesses to locate, isolate, and repair defective components. Use mechanical and electrical hand tools and other special shop tools and equipment. Certifies joint Air Force/Navy and Army certification program as to the accuracy of the electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic units which comprise the missile test sets. Modify electronic tests according to Air Force / Navy and Army specifications to test advanced models/ variants of missile systems. Test warranted and field return missile components during the assembly process. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Electronic Measurement Equipment Worker without more than normal supervision to include 1. Removing and replacing defective electronic components, modules or assemblies using electronic test equipment and tools. 2. Following wiring diagrams, schematics or diagrams to test equipment and perform maintenance, trouble shooting, and repair. I work under supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Physical Effort: Work involves standing and bending in sometimes awkward positions, occasional climbing and benchwork (sitting) for prolonged periods. Usually handles items from 10 to 40 pounds, but items may occasionally exceed 40 pounds. Working Conditions: Work is usually done inside in well lighted, heated, and ventilated areas but sometimes works outside in various weather conditions. However, may be required to work in adverse conditions in emergency situations. Incumbent is exposed to burns, electrical shock, and the possibility of cuts, bruises, and burns. Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct Deposit of Pay is required.
