JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for providing general supervision of warehouse staff to ensure a safe and proper work environment. Specific responsibilities include budget development, inventory management, and managing warehouse facilities to promote efficient operations, eliminate accidents, and minimize hazards that may cause injury. Consistent and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervises staff to include prioritizing and assigning work, conducting performance evaluations, monitoring employee performance, ensuring staff members are trained and cross trained, resolving conflicts, and making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations.

  • Completes inventory activities including periodic cycle counts, issuing tickets and return tickets, receiving and stocking materials, and checking materials out within the appropriate systems.

  • Investigates and resolves complex customer questions, problems, and/or complaints.

  • Oversees the receipt, storage, and issuing of materials and supplies, including flammable and hazardous materials in the warehouse facilities.

  • Oversees the processing of salvage materials for reclamation and reuse or sale as scrap or excess.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • Understanding of applicable Federal, State, and local laws, rules, and regulations.

  • Using computers, and applicable software applications such as Microsoft office, MRP modules of ERP systems such as SAP and Oracle.

  • Reading, analyzing, and interpreting drawings, reports, procedures, policies, and manuals.

  • Forklift certification or the ability to be certified within six months is preferred.

  • Ability to communicate with internal/external customers via various means, including but not limited to, email, phone, and written/verbal communication.

REQUIRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Associate’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, operations management or a related field.

  • At least six to 10 years of progressively responsible work-related experience in warehouse operations including at least four to six years of direct supervisory experience, or

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
