Description:
We are looking for an Engineering/ Facility Maintenance Supervisor to join our pre-opening team at Andaz Lisbon.
Expected to open in Mid-End Year 2025, Andaz Lisbon will offer guests an exciting new luxury lifestyle hotel in the Portuguese capital – and it will represent a key milestone in Hyatt’s continued brand growth in Southern Europe. Andaz Lisbon is set to become the second Hyatt-branded hotel in Lisbon. Located in the center of Lisbon’s bustling Baixa district and situated along the main pedestrian road, Rua Augusta, the hotel will be comprised of five separate buildings, including the former offices of one of the major banks in Portugal, Banco Português de Investimento (BPI). This central building of the hotel will offer 170 guestrooms, with the surrounding four satellite buildings of the hotel offering guests various private suites to choose from. This unique Urban Resort in the city center will allow guests to fully embrace the locale and experience authentic Lisbon.
Summary:
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of the hotel's physical plant and engineering facilities. This role supports the Engineering Director in ensuring the smooth operation of all engineering functions, maintaining high standards of safety, efficiency, and guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance & Repair: Oversee and perform preventive and ongoing maintenance of the hotel, including guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities.
Team Leadership: Assist in leading the engineering team, including scheduling, training, and evaluating staff. Act as the lead engineer in the absence of the Engineering Director.
Project Management: Assign and delegate work orders and projects, ensuring timely and quality completion. Inspect work to ensure compliance with standards.
Safety & Compliance: Conduct regular inspections of fire sprinkler systems, alarm systems, and other safety equipment. Develop and implement disaster response protocols.
Guest Service: Respond promptly to guest repair requests and ensure all maintenance issues are resolved efficiently.
Inventory Management: Maintain inventory of tools, parts, and supplies. Order and stock items as needed.
Documentation: Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, including preventive maintenance schedules and work orders.
Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to ensure seamless operations and address any engineering-related issues.
Qualifications:
Qualifications:
Education: Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree preferred.
Experience: At least 2 years of related work experience and 2 years of supervisory experience in a similar role.
Skills: Proficiency in one or more building trades (e.g., electrical, plumbing, HVAC). Strong leadership and communication skills.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds, stand, sit, or walk for extended periods, and perform tasks requiring bending, twisting, and climbing.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a luxury hotel environment.
Certification in relevant technical fields.
