$14.95 to $19.23

Position Summary:Under the supervision of the Special Events Manager, this position is the representative for Hudson Gardens during on-site events and is responsible for providing accurate information, excellent customer service to vendors, event attendees, patrons and staff. This is a part time, seasonal position generally requiring approximately 6 to 30 hours per week, varying throughout the year. Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays is required. This is not an event planning position.

Essential Duties:

  • Attends event training sessions to learn about each venue and event offerings.

  • Demonstrates a thorough and comprehensive understanding of the services offered and venues at Hudson Gardens.

  • Open and close venues per event guidelines

  • Directs vendors to designated areas

  • Communicates accurate information to vendors, attendees, patrons and staff to ensure a positive event for the client

  • Ensures that Hudson Gardens fulfills all contractual obligations to clients.

  • Ensures all vendors follow and comply with Hudson Gardens policies and procedures.

  • Creates an atmosphere of hospitality through courteous, helpful, patient service to guests and visitors.

  • Ensure that vendors clean up and put away equipment at the end of the event.

  • Oversee the timing of the events.

  • After the event is over, ensure that caterers and other vendors clear and wipe the tables and chairs, breakdown the tables and chairs, clean the sink and countertops, remove trash, and assure the overall cleanliness of the area.

  • Work as a team with fellow co-workers and communicate well with vendors, other employees and guests.

  • Recognize emergency and dangerous situations by reacting quickly and calmly, administer first aid as needed. Complete Accident/Incident reports.

  • Respond to public inquiries in a courteous manner; provide information within the area of assignment, resolve complaints in an efficient and timely manner.

  • Correct or inform supervisor of any facility hazards, communicate issues/complaints to supervisor as needed.

  • Submits nightly reports for each event

  • Attend and participate in staff meetings, trainings, and orientations.

  • Attend work on a regular, reliable and punctual basis, sub for co-workers when available.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.

  • A minimum of 1 year of client service experience.

  • Previous party host/hospitality experience preferred.

  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays is required.

Licenses, Certifications, and Other Requirements:

  • Must possess a valid Colorado Driver License or obtain upon hire and maintain an acceptable driving record.

Material and Equipment Used:To successfully perform the required job duties, this position regularly uses a phone, computer, printer, fax, projectors, scanners, and other common office equipment. This position may need to drive a personal vehicle to various District facilities.

Working Environment:This position primarily takes place in a moderate to loud, noisy event venue. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time. Ability to lift 30 lbs.

Physical Requirements:Must be able to frequently sit, stand, walk, climb, bend, kneel, stoop, reach and lift, exhibit manual dexterity and the ability to handle objects. Upper body strength is a requisite to lift/move to a maximum of 50 pounds. May be required to assist in lifting and moving tables, chairs, and cabinets, etc. Vision requirements include: near acuity, far acuity, and depth perception and color vision. The ability to talk and hear via the telephone, e-mail, and through face-to-face communication is needed. Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and/or ATV. Pick up small plants and animals. May occasionally climb, crawl, squat, kneel and lift up to 100 lbs. Must be able to see close up and at a distance with vision acuity and the ability to adjust focus allowing a broad field of vision.
