Description:

The Cable Technician will work with teams in new construction commercial environments. The individual will be focused on pulling, testing and terminating Cat 5 Cat 6 and potential fiber. Most of the work will be conducted in-person from 7 am to 4 pm, This individual must possess excellent customer service skills within company methods. Looking for someone with over 3 to 5 years’ experience as a cable technician.

Skills/Education:

 High school diploma/GED

 5 years of pulling cable, punching down cable and connecting cat 5, cat6 and fiber cable.

 Valid driver's license

 Computer skills & IT Network experience a plus

 Excellent oral and written communication skills

 Interpersonal skills and customer relationship building skills

 Adapts well to change, flexibility and resilience

 Excellent time management aptitude and organizational skills

 Self-starter and independent

 Proven troubleshooting skills

Physical Requirements:

 Working a minimum of 40 hours/week

 Lifting weights of 0 to 30 lbs from floor to above shoulders.

 Vision adequate for computer use and reading.

 Hearing adequate for phone use.

 Ability to wear personal protective equipment including hard hat, safety glasses, protected-toe boots, and appropriate gloves for the task. Other equipment on an "as needed" basis may include fall protection, dust mask, respirator, hearing protection, etc.

 Ability to visit construction job-sites including walking on uneven terrain, occasionally climbing, stooping, squatting and exposure to temperature extremes and the “elements” to perform site surveys and collect data for project design.

 Special hazards may include exposure to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and explosive hazards while performing site visits.
