Intermountain Health Episodic Hospice Volunteer: Logan in Logan, Utah
Job Description:
Volunteers play a vital role in hospice care. They are an integral part of the hospice team who provide patients, caregivers, and families the most comfortable and compassionate end-of-life experience possible.
Hospice volunteers are compassionate people who have a tremendous impact on the lives of the patients that they serve, the hospice team of which they are a part, and the families and friends of the terminally ill.
Bereavement Support - Sewing teddy bears from loved ones clothing. We are looking for a handful of seamstresses to assist with sewing bears for our Memory Bear program. These volunteers are supplemental and do not engage with patients or have access to any private information.
Episodic positions are exempt from vaccinations, background check, drug tests and finger printing.
Qualifications
Must be 18 years of age or older
Able to work well with diverse populations
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Good listening skills. Active listener
Maintain and respect professional relationships
Sound mental and emotional health
Sensitive to patient and family situations / dynamics
Able to stay calm in stressful situations
Self-motivated, flexible, and adaptable
