Multicam Operator - casual- talkSPORT
talkSPORT is the world’s biggest sports radio station. From World Cups and European Championships to the Premier League and the Champions League, through to Test cricket and world class boxing, the talkSPORT network is at the heart of the world’s major sporting events.
Your role: As a Multicam Operator you will be reporting to the Visual Operations Manager - you will provide high-quality output for the station. You will be dedicated to ensuring the visualisation of talkSPORT as it continues to go from strength to strength and take the station to the next level. You will be required to have laser-like focus and not be distracted with what can be a lively and noisy control room or newsroom. This role involves shift work, evenings and weekends
Day to day you will:
Vision mixing in a live broadcast environment
Visual content creation and Project Management
Correctly copying text on to screen graphics
Liaising with the Visual Producers/Editors and importing assets from shared folders
Make sure presenters and guests are framed correctly and constantly checking the output
To be fully aware of all compliance issues including Ofcom, reporting restrictions, Sports rights etc.
Take responsibility with what can be done to make our visuals look next level
Reporting technical issues through the appropriate channels
Constantly checking for breaking sports news and stories
Maintaining Multicam’s efficiency and making sure that servers are rebooted and storage regularly checked and cleared.
What we’re looking for from you:
A passion for radio production and an ear for great audio and an eye for great visuals
A passion for sport and up to date knowledge of sports news in particular football, boxing, cricket and rugby
A creative mind, ability to think differently about new concepts for radio and visualisation
Very strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy and to spot and correct errors quickly.
Excellent communications skills, a strong team player but able to work well independently.
You thrive in fast-paced environments and are able to work quickly in small teams.
Experience of working closely with presenters and knowledge of how to engage with them positively.
Understanding of relevant broadcast compliance and legal issues
Embraces change and suggests new initiatives and ways of working
