Senior Director, Finance - Finance Management

The Global Ventures Senior Finance Director - Coffee provides thought leadership and analytical support to SVP, Global Coffee and Hot Beverages and his/her leadership team. She/he will also be responsible for stewarding the financial performance of the Coffee RTD (ready to drink) platform that is managed directly from the Global Ventures (GV) Team. The qualified candidate is a professional with experience in financial analysis, business acumen and will be instrumental in driving Coca-Cola's Coffee category.  The role reports into VP Finance - Category & New Business Models and dotted to SVP, Global Coffee and Hot Beverages.

What You'll Do for Us

With regards to the Coffee category

  • Lead the Coffee category Long Range Plan financial process (at Global Ventures level) by making recommendations on Category resource allocation and providing guidance on levels of investments of the Coffee brands.

  • Provide financial and business insights on drivers of the overall Category financial performance based on discussions with Costa and the Operating Unit category teams and the information provided by Rolling Estimates and the Annual Business Plan.

  • Work with the SVP, Global Coffee and Hot Beverages and his/her team on identifying and prioritizing global initiatives. Define key initiatives during the annual business plan.

  • Partner with the VP -GV FP&A and Transformation to leverage technology, AI and other tools to standardize reporting, drive data analytics & insights to the Global Coffee and Hot Beverages team.

With regards to the Costa Coffee RTD business managed by the Global Ventures

  • Manage the Costa Coffee RTD P&L, including pro-actively managing risks & opportunities, providing predictability and to the extent possible, stability to the operation's key financial performance metrics.

  • Analysis of business results and recommending forward actions to close gaps to plan or accelerate the business results.

  • Lead development of finance analysis (value chain analysis, financial modelling, opportunity assessment, return on investment analysis, cash flow analysis and other financial tools) to develop recommendations to business leads and strategy assessments to support decision making.

  • Assess different business/financial models for the Coffee RTD platform and make recommendations on preferred structures and go to market strategies.

  • Formulate strategies to identify profitability opportunities in the Coffee RTD space.

  • Lead the Costa RTD Coffee expansion agenda in all aspects of financial assessment.

  • Understand external and competitive category performance to inform decisions.

  • Responsible for leading the Costa Coffee RTD countries finance teams - recruit, develop and sustain a diverse and high-performing team.  Coach, guide, and mentor team in managing and building their quantitative and analytical skills. Establishing key relationships that can be leveraged to strengthen team capabilities and to provide career advancement opportunities in the organization.

Qualifications & Experience

  • At least 12 years of broad financial experience, financial and business analysis, investment banking and/or consulting.

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, or accounting.  MBA, CPA, CFA, or master's degree preferred.

  • Advanced analytical skills - ability to draw insights and actions from large datasets, which lead to actionable strategies. Ability to perform financial analyses to assist in exploring strategic options, developing creative solutions to complex business issues, and/or support the strategic decision-making process.

  • Keen adopter of technology.

  • Ability to work independently to drive initiatives forward by coordinating cross functional resources.

  • Strong collaboration style to effectively work with many operations globally in a partnership manner.

  • The role relies heavily on the need to coordinate and communicate with many associates all over the world to gain insights on on-going results and operations.  These insights must then be summarized in a clear concise manner for communication to the Global Coffee and Hot Beverages and her/his team.
