Job Title: Data Learning Lead

Promoting data culture across AXIS is a pivotal process to make sure different parties across the business understand the importance of having data, our key asset – trustworthy. We are seeking a motivated Data Learning Lead to drive our data learning initiatives. This role supports AXIS’s ‘delivering on how we work’ objective and will be reporting into the Head of Data Governance.

What will you do in this role?

  • You will be responsible for building strong long-lasting relationships with different parts of business (underwriting, distribution, pricing, reserving and other teams)

  • You will be working part of Chief Data and Analytics Office (CDAO) team to support the roll out of the data ownership and stewardship model as part of our data strategy enabling the business colleagues a better and clearer understanding what this means for them in practice and how CDAO will be supporting them

  • You will be creating formal training pathways and designing an accreditation process for data roles within the business

  • You will be providing training to our business data champions (data owners and data stewards) to equip them with all the prerequisites required to make our data managed well, adhering to governance and quality standards

  • You will be responsible on keeping and updating the KPIs (e.g. Number of people trained) to be reported to the monthly Data Council (ExCominus 1)

  • You will be responsible for supporting and running the working groups with data champions on a weekly cadence

  • You will be coordinating among CDAO leadership items and bringing them to the working groups:

  • Data quality standards

  • Data lineage

  • Data cataloguing

  • Business glossary and definitions

  • You will be responsible for actively maintaining the stakeholder engagement during the transitional phase of the data domains roll out

You may also be required to take on additional duties, responsibilities and activities appropriate to the nature of this role.

About You:

What you need to have:

  • Good understanding of the underwriting process within the Insurance sector

  • Ability to communicate in easily understood terms and win over the stakeholders from different business units, demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Proven experience in leading the data change initiatives with multiple stakeholder groups

  • Proven experience in data governance change and implementation

  • Proven experience in designing data training programmes

  • Ability to understand the data ownership and data stewardship concepts and apply them in practice as part of data transformation

  • Ability to prepare working materials and run workshops with diverse stakeholdergroup

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously

  • Ability to run the meetings in a timely manner, follow the agenda, agree actions, capture and monitor them during working groups

  • Ability to make decisions and come up with potential solutions when faced with ambiguity, uncertainty and changing priorities

  • Ability to self-start own tasks and to independently lead small projects of few weeks to few monthsduration

  • Ability to demonstrate strong problem solving skills and think strategically about the data

What we prefer you to have:

  • Strategy and/or management consulting experience on data change is a plus

  • Experience with data strategy, target operating model and transformation

  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and project management tools
