How you make a difference

The Clinical Specialist is at the heart of creating positive change, conducting thorough assessments to evaluate risk levels and treatment needs. This role is crucial in developing personalized treatment plans and collaborating closely with individuals and their support networks to achieve meaningful goals. By planning and leading psychoeducation groups and interventions, the Clinical Specialist empowers individuals to enhance their quality of life and improve overall functioning. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct Mental Health Assessments : Thoroughly assess the mental health status, risk factors, and acuity levels of individuals served, following regulations and policies to ensure comprehensive evaluation.

  • Develop and Implement Treatment Plans : Create individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, working closely with the individual served and multidisciplinary team to implement evidence-based interventions.

  • Build Therapeutic Relationships : Foster trust, open communication, and active participation in the treatment process by developing and maintaining strong therapeutic relationships with individuals served.

  • Collaborate with Support Systems : Work with families, caregivers, and other support systems to enhance the treatment experience and create a supportive environment for the individual served.

  • Facilitate Psychoeducation Groups : Plan and lead psychoeducation groups focused on therapeutic goals and mental health education, helping individuals develop skills and knowledge for positive mental health outcomes.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education:

  • Required: M.A. or M.S. in Psychology, Social Work, Marriage Family Therapy, Counseling, or a health care related field.

Experience:

  • Required: Two (2) years of experience or training working in a program serving persons with severe and persistent mental disabilities.

  • Preferred: Use of Electronic Medical Records (EMR).

  • Preferred: Knowledge of or experience in community-based resources for adults with mental illness.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Preferred: Registered intern, licensed or licensed-eligible as Psychologist, MFT, LCSW, LPCC.

  • Preferred: National Provider Number (NPI number) if applicable. Would not apply to non-licensable Master’s degrees, only those pursuing a license.
