Daybreak Foods Sanitation Lead in Long Prairie, Minnesota

Description Summary This position is a Sanitation Lead position in a Food Processing (Eggs) company. The purpose of this position is to clean and sanitize egg-processing equipment on a daily basis following the processing shift. Key Responsibilities Responsible for dissembling, cleaning, sanitizing, and reassembling the processing equipment on a daily basis. Performs CIP on tankers, silos, and product lines. Responsible for maintaining chemical levels for CIP system. Monitor chemical titrations. Requires working with high pressure cleaning equipment, manual scrubbing, use of hose, and simple mechanical tools. Assists with general maintenance tasks as remove/replace panels on breaker machine. End of day building and equipment shutdown. Post sanitation inspections of all equipment. Review with Maintenance/Processing Manager and chemical supplier on the correct use of sanitation equipment for process equipment. Maintain proficiency in the sanitation protocols in a Master Sanitation Schedule. Ensure Master Sanitation Schedule is completed as required. Delegates and assigns work to sanitation crew. Monitors performance of sanitation crew providing effective feedback and coaching when necessary. Reports progress, issues or concerns to Maintenance/Processing Manager as appropriate. Ensures all company safety practices, policies and procedures are being followed by all employees. Must follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's). Familiarity with GMP's or equivalent practices is highly desirable Minimum of 2 years' specifically related experience. Previous food plant sanitation experience is highly desirable. Training for egg specific equipment would be provided in house. Prior experience in a lead or supervisory position preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to work independently. Ability to effectively lead, coach and mentor others. Ability and willingness to learn several associated jobs. Ability to speak English and Spanish highly desirable. General mechanical aptitude. Written and verbal communication skills. Physical Demands Stand and walk constantly; grip, grasp, push, pull, reach, bend, stoop, lift up to 10 pounds frequently; sit, climb, lift up to 50 pounds occasionally. Work Environment Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and water, and chemicals. Temperature is regulated for operations standards. Cooler temperatures occur in specific areas. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Proper personal protective equipment will be required during certain working conditions. Employees are required to comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's) due to working in a food manufacturing environment (hairnets, clean clothes, etc.).
