Robert Half Accounts Payable Specialist in Los Alamitos, California
Description We are a company in the logistics industry, based in California. We are currently seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist. This opportunity offers a contract to permanent employment where you will be primarily responsible for various accounting and operational functions, supporting the AP team, and reporting to the Accounting Manager.
Responsibilities:
• Analyzing vendors for AP meetings
• Ensuring all documentation and approvals are in order for payments to be issued
• Processing and posting invoices to GP and issuing payments
• Upholding the company’s core values of Teamwork, Integrity, Respect, Excellence, and Safety
• Maintaining, organizing, and filing AP-related documents
• Maintaining various Excel schedules and statement reconciliations
• Communicating effectively with both internal and external parties to resolve concerns
• Using Accounting Software Systems, Concur, and ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning for various accounting functions
• Applying knowledge of Account Coding, ADP - Financial Services, and Automated Clearing House (ACH) for accounts payable operations
• Conducting auditing when necessary, and using accrual accounting methods. Requirements • Proficiency in Account Coding, with the ability to accurately classify and record transactions.
• Familiarity with Accounting Software Systems, to streamline and automate financial tasks.
• Experience with ADP - Financial Services, for seamless payroll and business payments.
• Knowledge of Concur, for efficient travel, expense and invoice management.
• Proficiency in ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning, to integrate and manage core business processes.
• Strong understanding of Accounting Functions, including the preparation, examination, and analysis of financial records.
• Experience in Accounts Payable (AP), with the ability to process and reconcile all payable transactions.
• Knowledge of Accrual Accounting, to record revenues and expenses when they are incurred, regardless of when cash is exchanged.
• Strong auditing skills, with the ability to review accounts for accuracy and legality.
• Familiarity with Automated Clearing House (ACH), for the electronic processing of financial transactions.
