Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled construction manager to provide support to the Federal Project Directors (FPD) at the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) Los Alamos Project Management Office, NA-95, to support their portfolio of line item projects >$100M. In this role, the successful candidate will use their extensive skills and knowledge to provide field oversight on behalf of the FPD and support all areas of construction and project management.
What You'll Be Doing:
Provide owner’s agent / trusted advisor services while promoting safety, quality, efficiency, transparency, and collaboration.
Conduct walkdowns of active constructions sites to provide oversight of the M&O and subcontractor’s performance against cost, scope, and schedule, and document observations daily.
Participate in constructability reviews.
Monitor field change requests, deviation requests, and other requests for information and their impacts to construction.
Participate in project meetings and provide appropriate construction status summaries.
Work collaboratively with the integrated project team to give the Federal Project Director a big picture assessment of the project’s overall performance.
Review project plans, schedules, drawings, submittals, and reporting as requested and/or necessary to support project field performance assessment.
Assist in the review of project planning, estimating, or other documents as requested.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Working knowledge, and demonstrated application, of construction industry best practices.
Working knowledge, and demonstrated application, of project management principles and best practices.
Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively within a team environment and provide excellent customer service.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, experience developing reports for assessments and observations conducted.
Ability to obtain “Q” clearance.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
Associate’s degree in construction management and 10+ years construction and project management experience.
Working knowledge and ability to perform construction estimating including but not limited to ability to assess material take offs, labor resourcing, and risk for reasonableness.
Experience with developing, managing, and reporting against resource loaded construction schedules.
Experience with developing or responding to field change requests, design changes, requests for information, and nonconformances.
Local candidates preferred.

Salary Range:
$117,000.00 - $210,600.00
