CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS SENIOR SPECIALIST

WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

The Senior Corporate Communications Specialist promotes and protects City National's brand internally and/or externally and works with internal stakeholders to execute strategies that promote the bank's brand reputation and growth. The Senior Specialist identifies potential stories, trains and pitches executives for print/TV appearances (external sub-group), and organizes editorial/awards/infoLink/email calendar. Works closely with City National's events and social media teams to create awareness opportunities and amplify the bank's messages.

What you will do

• Develops, proposes, writes and edits content such as compelling infoLink NEWS articles, speeches, award submissions, press releases, and a wide array of executive communications that promote the company's brand reputation, business development strategies, and thought leadership. On external sub-group, develops media strategies and pitches reporters

• Serves as primary point of contact for certain executives and media/press outlets (external sub-group)

• Trains spokespersons for media appearances and speaking engagements

• Develops strategies and communications plans that align to business goals

• All other appropriate duties as required

Must-Have*

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent

• Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in writing and copy-editing skills, proofreading, Journalism, editing, AP Style

• Minimum 6 years corporate communications experience

Skills and Knowledge

• BA/BS degree in English, Journalism, Public Relations or related communications field preferred

• Finance/banking background preferred

• Journalism, editing, AP Style, business background a plus

• Excellent writing and copy-editing skills required

• Must be able to provide high attention to detail

• Knowledge and proficiency in social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.)

• Must possess an interpersonal style that enables effective relationships with peers and senior executives in the execution of job responsibilities

• Strong background in corporate communications, business writing, media relations and digital communications

• Must be capable of working well independently and in teams

Compensation

Starting base salary: $92,114 - $156,880 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This job is eligible for bonus and/or commissions.
