About the role
CBRE Investment Management, a subsidiary of CBRE, is a leading global real assets investment management firm operating in over 30 offices and 20 countries around the world. This employee’s position will be in Los Angeles on The Development Team. The Development Team oversees development projects in the U.S., across different product types and firm’s capital sources. The team is in search of a senior analyst to support the overall responsibilities of the Development Team. Specifically, a junior-level employee with a background in construction, engineering, or development and is looking to gain exposure and experience in real estate finance and investments.
What you’ll do
Analyzing construction costs and budgets, ensuring that projects remain on schedule and on budget.
Processing monthly draw requests.
Change order management.
Attending and communicating with construction partners in team and OAC meetings.
Maintain proficiency on markets and costs (materials, labor, etc.) by collecting, reviewing and verifying market information and supporting assumptions used in financial projections
Assisting with financial modeling/reforecasting of existing and potential investments and developments
Managing capital expenditure projects; such as, renovations, market ready spaces, ESG integration, etc.
Prepare Quarterly reports and presentations for multiple portfolios and product types.
Coordinates information and data with Acquisitions, Asset Management, Debt, and Portfolio management teams.
Willing to travel to existing properties, construction sites, and properties under due diligence, meetings with developers etc. across the nation.
What you’ll need
Undergraduate degree in Real Estate Development, Architecture, Construction Engineering, or Civil/Mechanical Engineering.
Preferred 3-5 years of construction and/or design related experience.
Proficient in design and construction management.
Experience in performing quantity take-off’s.
Good knowledge in real estate finance and investments
Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and Bluebeam.
Strong writing skills
Problem solving aptitude and critical thinking skills.
An ability to take initiative and be an entrepreneurial-minded, self-starter.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a drive to build a network in the real asset management industry
Interest in learning how to utilize analytical investment management tools.

CBRE Investment Management carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for this position is $110,000 annually and the maximum salary for the position is $120,000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates may also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE IM’s applicable benefit program.
