Within our Amazon Ads Brand Marketing team, we are seeking an accomplished copywriter to join our team and help create exceptional content for our global website and blog (advertising.amazon.com) and other public-facing channels. This role will support the Editorial team by developing new content ideas, series pitches, covering industry and proprietary events, and rigorous copy editing to make sure that our content and communications are consistent and raising the bar. This person will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects across website content, digital videos, infographics, blog posts, campaign work, emails, and website copy amongst other opportunities. This role requires an excellent writer, communicator, and copy editor who is able to distill complex concepts into succinct, meaningful copy, along with a meticulous attention for detail to ensure the highest quality at all times. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, effectively juggles multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining a sharp eye for detail and high standards. You work quickly, collaboratively, and iteratively. You are also self-motivated, resourceful, eager to learn about our business, and willing to "roll up your sleeves" and get work done. This role will require ruthless prioritization across multiple content priorities and stakeholders, and have high judgement to know what to prioritize based on business needs.

Key job responsibilities

  • Ideate and create content across various marketing channels, including but not limited to website copy, video, infographics, blog posts, white papers, research, marketing campaigns, and email.

  • Write compelling copy that captures readers’ attention across a variety of mediums and channels.

  • Copyedit and proofread internal and external materials for quality, consistency and compliance, including grammar, punctuation, brand style, and brand guideline considerations (approximatively 30% of responsibilities dedicated to copyediting).

  • Ideate and pitch new story ideas aligned to our content strategy and in service of our customers.

  • Translate data into easy-to-understand narratives that inform, inspire, and engage customers.

  • Define and recommend workflow efficiencies for editorial review, stakeholder management, project prioritization, and planned hours for Editorial work.

  • Establish and share best practices across content/editorial team.

  • Proactively seek out opportunities to update brand style guidelines and educate business partners about guidelines and best practices in writing.

  • Contribute to building toolkits, templates, and processes to promote self-service and communication best practices across the organization.

  • Consistently manage deadlines and priorities for multiple projects simultaneously.

Basic Qualifications

    • 5+ years of communications, marketing, or journalism experience
    • 5+ years of digital content or content marketing experience
    • Experience working with data and analytics to make strategic content decisions
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience working in digital media or digital journalism
    • Experience developing, editing, and planning web and/or blog content
    • Experience with SEO and conducting keyword research and trend analyses to monitor seasonal, industry, and real-time trends
    • Familiarity with, or willingness to experiment with, technology tools (e.g. GenAI) for content creation
    • Innovates and creates new, attention-grabbing, and effective content ideas
    • Has worked globally and developed scalable best practices
    • Ability to exercise high judgment in narrow time-frames
    • Self-driven, entrepreneurial spirit—enjoys taking responsibility and making things happen
    • Knowledgeable about digital communications and content trends and able to apply these insights to their work

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $119,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $197,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
