Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Network Administrator to lead the design, implementation, optimization, and security of our LAN/WAN infrastructure, including both cloud-based and on-prem solutions. This role will be integral to managing our Azure infrastructure and responding to alerts across a range of infrastructure technologies. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in network infrastructure management, cloud environments, and troubleshooting in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Network Infrastructure Management:
Lead the design, implementation, and management of LAN/WAN networks (cloud and on-prem).
Ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security of network systems.
Troubleshoot and resolve network issues across various layers (physical, data link, network, transport).
Cloud Infrastructure (Azure):
Lead and execute the design, build, security, and optimization of the organization's Azure cloud infrastructure.
Ensure cloud-based networks and resources are secure, efficient, and scalable.
Implement and maintain network connectivity between on-premises and cloud environments.
Monitoring and Response:
Monitor and respond to NOC (Network Operations Center) alerts, addressing a wide array of infrastructure technologies and identifying potential issues proactively.
Provide real-time troubleshooting and analysis for network outages, degradation, and other related incidents.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to mitigate issues and prevent downtime.
Security:
Implement security protocols and controls to protect both cloud and on-premises network infrastructures.
Conduct regular security assessments and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain comprehensive documentation for network architectures, processes, and procedures.
Create and update reports regarding network performance, security, and incidents.
Collaboration & Support:
Work closely with IT teams to provide seamless integration of network solutions with other systems and services.
Offer expert-level support for network-related issues and initiatives across the organization.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
5+ years of experience in network administration, including hands-on experience with LAN/WAN infrastructure, cloud technologies, and network security.
Proven experience with Azure infrastructure design, implementation, and optimization.
Strong knowledge of network protocols, routing, switching, and troubleshooting tools.
Hands-on experience with firewalls, VPNs, SD-WAN, and other networking technologies.
Ability to monitor, analyze, and troubleshoot complex network environments.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
Certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, or similar are a plus.
Additional Skills (Preferred):
Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, or similar).
Familiarity with automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python).
Experience in a hybrid-cloud or multi-cloud network environment.
