UCLA Health Program Director - Surgery (PASE) in Los Angeles, California

Description

The Department of Surgery is seeking to hire a full time Project Policy Analyst 4 will serve as the Executive Director for the Program for the Advancement of

Surgical Equity (PASE) Program. The PASE Program was established to reduce the disparities in surgical

disease outcomes by promoting collaborative research, community partnerships, and supporting capacity

building through training and education. In this capacity, PASE:

  • Develops long term partnerships with local and international organizations and institutions to identify opportunities to improve access to and delivery of surgical care through program development, research and education.

  • Conducts rigorous epidemiological studies that highlight injury and surgical inequity and test solutions to inform policy

  • Educates and trains future leaders in surgical equity and global surgery.

The Executive Director will oversee

both the US and Global Health-based programs and staff as well as the HEaL Trauma Program. They will be

responsible for:

  • Fiscal management of these programs and as well as maintaining and growing the PASE program.

  • Planning, development, and execution of all operations to meet the mission and goals of the program/project.

  • Production of all deliverables, planning and coordination, strategic planning, communication, supervision, training, financial oversight, and grant writing.

  • Planning and executing all program/project activities, works independently and in teams including external collaborators, in a high volume fast-paced environment, communicates effectively, supervises staff, understands and ensures compliance with UCLA, state, and federal regulations.

Pay Range: $83,800.00 - $179,400.00 annuallyQualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or 5-7 years of experience.

  • Ability to work independently and also have interpersonal skills to work with teams, provide training, and supervise staff 1+ years' experience of supervising laboratory personnel and operations.

  • Exceptional writing skills to produce wide range of documents and deliverables.

  • Experience communicating effectively and professionally and working with a variety of internal and external partners, including UCLA administrators, outside funders, policy makers and community representatives.

  • Strong organizational skills to successfully work on and track complex programs involving short deadlines and multiple tasks, in coordination with multiple teams to achieve program/project mission and goals.

  • Working knowledge of program/project development, evaluation, creating datasets, financial management and reporting, research principles including CITI training, grant writing and proposal submission, University procedures and policies, program/project related federal and state regulations.

  • Ability to seek out and learn new policies, procedures, and software to advance the mission of the program/project.

  • Ability to train new program/project managers and other staff within and external to the unit.

Preferred:

  • Master's degree or 3-5 years of experience.
