UCLA Health Regulatory Pharmacy Technician in Los Angeles, California

You will
perform medication management functions in support of departmental and
organizational quality, safety, regulatory, and education priorities across the
health-system. These include but are not limited to: coordinating staff
training and competency validations, performing assessments to ensure
regulatory compliance, and preparing reports of identified opportunities for
improvement and associated recommendations.
You will
also be responsible for the preparation, distribution, and control of sterile
injectable medications, , record keeping (refrigerator temperature logs and
hood cleaning) drug distribution and ordering/maintaining inventory. All
duties are performed independently by the technician under the supervision of a
Pharmacist.
Schedule:
Varied hours, depending on department needs, including weekends and holidays.
You are required to have the ability to travel to multiple work sites within
UCLA Health.
Hourly
Salary Range: $32.77 - $43.22 (Union represented, step based salary depending
on years of experience)
Bargaining
Unit: EX - AFSCME
Qualifications
CA Pharmacy Technician license - required
Ability to compound chemotherapy utilizing departmental guidelines for the preparation/distribution of cytotoxic agents- required
At least 1 year of IV sterile compounding pharmacy experience- required
Ability to travel to different UCLA Health locations - required
Skill in ability to do glove fingertip and media fill testing on other technicians. Preference for at least 1 year past experience doing these specific tasks.
Skill in preparing intravenous solutions using aseptic technique.
Ability to read, interpret, and synthesize policies, regulations, and other documents related to area of practice.
Ability to accurately perform pharmaceutical calculations.
Ability to work independently and follow-through on assignments with minimal supervision.
Skill in computer order entry of medication orders as well as other related computer entry tasks and computer report generation.
Telephone and verbal skills required to communicate clearly and effectively with pharmacists, nurses, physicians and other health professionals.
Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching.
Ability to lift 25 lbs and push 50 lbs
Responsiveness to auditory alarms and communication devices
