Position Overview:

Our client in Louisville, CO, is seeking an experienced Paralegal or Legal Assistant to join their team in a fully onsite legal support role. This position requires a dedicated professional with a minimum of 3+ years of legal work experience. A background in tribal and federal Indian law would be a bonus but we also will be considering candidates with an expertise across a broad range of legal areas. Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with clients in key areas including housing, education, finance, gaming, energy, natural resources, taxation, and government affairs.

• Offer legal support for business transactions, litigation, child welfare, social services, and general tribal legal counsel services.

• Perform legal research and prepare memoranda, pleadings, agreements, and other legal documents.

• Support with hearings and trials, including tribal, federal, and state proceedings.

• Develop and sustain strong client relationships by effectively communicating with tribal clients and representatives from federal, state, and tribal agencies.

• Work on cases independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.

  Requirements

Requirements:

• Minimum 3+ years of experience as a paralegal or legal assistant in a legal support capacity. Exposure to Indian tribes or tribal entities is a bonus.

• Knowledge and practice in tribal and federal Indian law OR knowledge and practice of a variety of legal practice areas.

• Strong analytical, legal research, and legal writing skills, with the ability to support with complex legal matters.

• Proven ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

• Ability to be fully onsite in Louisville, CO.
