Conagra EHS Specialist in Louisville, Kentucky

Job Summary:

Reporting to the EHS Manager, the EHS Specialist acts in a tactical role to ensure EHS programs, policies, and systems are implemented in all departments. Provide EHS leadership and technical support to the site’s Operational and Maintenance teams to reduce risk, achieve needs and maintain compliance through the use of continuous improvement tools.

You will report to the Louisville Location. This is an onsite position.

You Will

  • Support EHS Management Systems as the road map to zero injures and world class performance.

  • Lead work steams on EHS Pillar Team to reduce risk and eliminate losses.

  • Participate in Unified Problem Solving events, incident investigations & development of corrective and preventive actions.

  • Help with environmental inspections, reporting and maintaining permit requirements.

  • Develop, implements, and maintains EHS site-specific training needs.

  • Manage LOTO program including alternative safe methods (ASM). Manage site’s hearing conservation program and coordinates annual audiograms.

  • Ensure EHS policies are reviewed and personnel are trained.

  • Help with contractor and project EHS management.

  • Represent EHS by participating on other pillar teams and committees.

  • Manage safety keep stock program for consumables and PPE.

  • Other tasks as assigned.

You Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Risk Management, Industrial Hygiene, or related discipline.

  • Familiarity with Continuous Improvement tools & fundamentals.

  • 3+ years of EHS experience is strongly preferred.

  • Awareness of food safety, quality, and PSM elements preferred.

  • Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Can work in areas that are hot or cold, surfaces may be slippery, climb ladders/stairs.

  • Follow Food Safety & Quality

  • .You are frequently required to stand; sit; use hands to handle; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, and crouch.

  • When working in the plant, the work environment has moderate noise levels.

  • Training and improvement projects may require candidate to travel

  • Work nights and weekends, depending on the demands of the business.
