Job Title: Staff Accountant/Accounting Analyst/Accountant

Job Description

The Staff Accountant will work closely with the Chief Financial Officer to facilitate and apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This role involves managing specialized work efficiently, with a high attention to detail, and a strong commitment to completing tasks on time. The position requires a disciplined individual who can work at a faster-than-average pace and handle detailed, specialized work.

Responsibilities

  • Manage companywide accounting including G/L account reconciliation, month-end closing, and ad hoc projects.

  • Assist with monthly close processes, including preparation of journal entries, analyses, and credit card/bank account reconciliations.

  • Support Accounts Receivable by applying cash receipts, helping with collection of past due balances, and processing daily invoices/credits.

  • Work with Accounts Payable by handling vendor invoices and disbursement filing, A/P invoice matching, and filing.

  • Reconcile discrepancies by checking source materials and preparing corrective actions as needed.

  • Complete AR/AP related tasks for multiple entities.

  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations.

  • Participate in month-end close activities including preparation of journal entries, reconciliation of accounts, and sales tax computations.

  • Perform GL and account reconciliation and analysis.

  • Handle bank reconciliation and daily bank updates.

  • Post monthly accrual journal entries, fixed assets, and depreciation.

  • Perform routine clerical accounting duties within a fast-paced finance department.

  • Prepare and interpret financial summaries and provide reports to managers on a daily/weekly/monthly basis.

  • Handle financial reporting, prepare supporting schedules, and analyze data.

Work Environment

This position is based in an office environment. The role requires the use of MS Office, ERP systems, and QuickBooks. The work is conducted within a dynamic and fast-paced finance department.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $75000.00/yr.
