As a Data Engineer, you will work in a SCRUM team closely with the backend developers, solutions architects and UI/App developers to build and enhance our existing and future digital services within Continental Tires. With this job, you join the global team working on our product ContiConnect, a digital tire monitoring platform for commercial fleets around the world.
Your main responsibilities will be:
Closely collaborate with ContiConnect team members based in Germany, Portugal and US to foster the integration of data across several applications;
Design and establish common data models for data exchange;
Constantly adapt data models as per the requirements of the connected applications;
Build ingestion processes for streaming data as well as bulk imports;
Support ongoing operations for data pipelines as 3rd level support engineer;
Follow Scrum/Agile / SAFe methodologies to organize and plan projects.
University degree in Computer Science, IT, or related studies;
2 years of experience as an internal or external consultant / developer for data warehousing applications;
Experience supporting and operating a software system;
Affinity for the specific challenges of data integration from heterogenous sources;
Experience in at least one object-oriented programming language (e.g., Java, Python, C#);
Knowledge of data modeling in relational databases (preferably PostgreSQL);
Experience with data modeling in key value stores - e.g., HBase – (is a plus);
Experience with Apache Flink / Spark / Hive (is a plus);
Knowledge of CI/CD tools, like Jenkins (is a plus);
Ability to communicate effectively with technical and business stakeholders;
Analytical mindset and excellent problem-solving skills;
Experience in working in a multinational company (is a plus);
Proficient English skills (written and spoken).
