Minimum Relevant work experience: Minimum of 3-5 years in an accounting role

Nestlé Angola is currently looking for a Senior Accountant who will ​Undertake job activities to ensures service delivery to achieve operational efficiency as well as adherence to regulations, standards, and processes to excel in compliance within the Financial Account and Follow external regulations with regards to IFRS.

RESPONSIBILTIES

  • ​​ Fixed Assets Management

  • Ensures that Fixed Assets Register is updated on a timely manner to account for changes such as disposal, transfer and scrapping as well as proper classification of assets in the Asset Master Records (AMR).

  • Ensure that only items that meet the criterial of fixed assets per Nestlé Accounting Standards (NAS) are included in the Fixed Assets Register. In addition, ensures periodic verification of Fixed Assets at all locations to ensure that all assets in the register can be identified and are in good working conditions. Also, ensures that Assets Under Constructions (AUC) are clearly justified.

  • Management of Goods Receipts/Invoice Receipt (GR/IR)

  • Analyses open GR/IR lines and liaises with Operational Buyers and NBS to take appropriate action to resolve all outstanding GR/IR lines in a timely manner .

  • Co-ordination of Monthly Stock Counts

  • Ensures that Finished Goods inventories are taking on monthly basis, reconciles with Warehouse Managers and differences arising out of the stock count and recommend appropriate actions to be taken to ensure identified differences are corrected.

  • Supervision of Monthly Period End Activities

  • Reviews, justifies and approves all monthly accruals in accordance with NAS before they are posted. Ensures that Balance Sheet Account Reconciliations and Analysis are also reviewed and approved on a timely manner.

  • Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, including financial statement preparation, reconciliation, and analysis.

  • Review and approve journal entries, adjustments, and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.

  • Co-ordination of External Audit

  • Acts as a Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for external audit and Tax Consulting firm to co-ordinate and provide all requested information on a timely manner (Meet with the statutory auditor to schedule audits).

  • Ensure all balance sheet accounts are reconciled and difference justified.

  • Manage accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger (All subledger reconciled vs general ledger).

  • Cashflow control.

  • Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and financial performance metrics to identify risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement.

  • Prepare and analyze cash flow forecasts, and variance analyses to support decision-making and strategic planning.

WHAT MAKES YOU SUCCESSFUL?

  • Minimum of 3-5 years in an accounting role ·

  • Prior experience in Accounting / Finance function (e.g.: Costing, Accounts payable, Operation/ distribution accounting)

  • FMCG Experience is a plus

  • Knowledge in Tax

  • Knowledgeable in Excel, Word, Power point and SAP

  • Have required documentation to work in Angola

  • Must have strong IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standard)

  • Proficiency in English and Portuguese

  • Must be a chartered accountant
