Position Description:

Performs supervisory and coordinative work in the operation of a specific program or departmental project. Responsibilities involve the coordination and supervision of the various functions and aspects of a specific program as well as the monitoring of program staff and operational procedures. Work is performed under general supervision with evaluation based on results obtained. May supervise program staff, volunteers and student assistants.

Major/Essential Functions:

  • Manages building operations which includes building issues, maintenance, repair, and upkeep. Prepare quotes for furniture needs as well as work needed in the building. Includes submitting work orders and interacting with maintenance workers and their supervisors.

  • Performs the general operations functions of the College including ordering business cards and nametags, ordering and stocking the coffee service, answering and directing phone calls, and assisting visitors to the College.

  • Manages mailroom operations—incoming and outgoing mail and shipments, mail sorting, requested print and copy orders from faculty, maintenance, inventory, copier renewals, and ordering and distribution of supplies.

  • Ensures that emergency action plans (EAP) are up-to-date and that EPA coordinators have appropriate training. Serves as liaison to TTU emergency personnel as needed.

  • Hires, trains and supervises the various tasks performed by student employees for the Mailroom, Cutting Edge, and Reading Room. Timesheets and scheduling.

  • Provides support to event facilitators to ensure the building and rooms are ready for all scheduled events.

  • Maintains the FOLLET Database for the Reading Room which includes ordering and receiving books, cataloging, cleaning and wrapping appropriately, shelving in their proper places and inventorying the catalog annually.

  • Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.

  • Knowledge of state requirements for certification.

  • Strong use of technology for communication and maintaining records.

  • Ability to work alone and with others.

  • Use of databases and technology to maintain accurate records.

  • Positive attitude and ability to make effective decisions in difficult situations.

  • Experience with conflict resolution.

  • Experience managing building operations, maintenance, repair and upkeep.

High school graduation plus five (5) years progressively responsible related experience; additional related education may exchange for the required experience on a year for year basis.
