Position Description:
The Student Financial Aid Analyst plays a crucial role in supporting the financial aid department of Texas Tech University by providing comprehensive analysis, evaluation, and administration of student financial aid programs. This position involves meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a deep understanding of financial aid policies and regulations.

Major/Essential Functions:
Accurate and timely review of documents critical in the financial aid process required per federal regulations.
Assist in monthly internal monitoring of financial aid processes for federal compliance.
Administration of verification of the financial aid application process and the distribution of federal and state financial aid. Review student financial aid applications for accuracy utilizing IRS tax forms and supplemental documentation.
Support compliance in the office by providing assistance with Satisfactory Academic progress (SAP) and Return to Title IV (R2TIV) processing.
Maintain confidentiality with regard to federal, state, and institutional policies.
Review scheduled reports.
Assist students and families by being available in the Student Financial Aid Center and via email to discuss financial aid awards and options.
Assist and be readily available for State Auditor’s Office requests and audit detail reports.
Review student account post-verification to ensure accurate awarding of funds.

Occasional Duties:
Advise students, parents, high school counselors, and other entities on the financial aid process (with a primary focus on borrowing options, repayment, and default prevention) through in-office meetings, front counter, special events, orientation, and presentations.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree plus one year related experience or a combination of education and progressively responsible related experience to equal five years.
