Reporting to the VP of Madawaska Operations, the Safety Manager is responsible to:

  • Contribute to development and support of the Safety Management Plan.
  • Develop and execute health and safety plans in the workplace according to legal guidelines.
  • Establish a culture that focuses on safety engagement, compliance and health & safety as an overriding expectation for which everyone will be held accountable
  • Execute all aspects of the Partners in Safety Program.
  • Lead three (3) EHS Representatives including all hourly time and attendance, performance, coaching and training needs.
  • Identify, manage, direct, develop, and audit for continuous improvement of the safety systems, procedures, and policies
  • Evaluate practices, procedures and facilities to assess safety risk.

{=html} <!-- --> - Develop and implement training for all personnel to assure understanding of health & safety programs - Manage regulatory agency inspections, inquiries, contacts, reporting in accordance with corporate and regulatory requirements. - Ensure compliance with all safety programs, including recordkeeping. - Lead investigations and resolve safety issues and concerns.

{=html} <!-- --> - Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes and reporting. - Work with VP of Madawaska Operations to set priorities and goals consistent with corporate priorities and goals. - Lead and participate in a cross-functional manner as a change agent with all departments within Twin Rivers Paper Company - Communicate effectively to all levels from floor to corporate executives on the progress and trends towards achieving excellence in safety compliance - Direct outside contractors / internal resources to obtain appropriate and timely safety requirements. - Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures. - Responsible for understanding food safety requirements within the facility. - Performs other duties as assigned
