Actalent Electrical Engineer in Madison, Alabama

Job Title: Electrical EngineerJob Description

We are seeking an Electrical/Electronics Engineer to design, fabricate, test, and support the operation of UASs and other aerospace-based products. This role involves direct interfacing with customers, manufacturing, engineering, flight test, and UAS flight operations staff. Responsibilities

  • Design, fabricate, test, and support UAS and aerospace products.

  • Interface with customers, manufacturing, engineering, flight test, and UAS flight operations staff.

  • Read and understand technical drawings, datasheets, and work instructions.

  • Use electronic, hand, power, and pneumatic tools.

  • Solder circuit and harness assemblies.

  • Fabricate electrical harnesses, RF cables, and circuit board assemblies.

  • Install avionics modules, harnesses, and RF cables into UAV airframes.

  • Modify electrical harness units and assemblies.

  • Repair and calibrate avionics modules according to specifications.

  • Set up equipment at outdoor testing locations for operation and test data collection.

  • Write procedures, update BOMs, and other related documentation.

  • Organize and maintain all work-related tools, test equipment, fixtures, etc.

Essential Skills

  • Training and knowledge of UAV, UAS, and/or FAA aviation avionics electronics.

  • Experience with computer LAN and RF communication systems, antennas, and data links.

  • Testing, troubleshooting, and debugging electronic circuits and assemblies.

  • Use of DC power supplies, DMM, oscilloscope, and RF spectrum analyzer.

  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, and CAD.

  • Ability to travel on a limited basis to remote testing ranges.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with AutoCAD Electrical, Altium, and PCB design.

  • Knowledge of avionic products, components, and suppliers.

  • Ability to fabricate and modify electrical harnesses and assemblies.

  • Skill in using hand tools for assembly and fabrication.

Work Environment

The position is onsite in Madison, AL. You will work in a fast-paced, innovative environment with occasional travel to remote testing ranges.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $135000.00/yr.

Work WeekMonday through Friday; 8 hours per day; 40 hoursper week. Different hours may be assigned tospecific individuals when circumstances warrant.Holidays10 holidays: New Year's Day, President's Day,Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day,Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and 3 additionalFloating Holidays (1 awarded after 3 monthsemployment, and 2 awarded after 6 months).Personal Time Off3 weeks per year accrued at 10 hours per month:• 1 to 5 years: 3 weeks• 5 to 10 years: 4 weeks• 10+ years: 5 weeksPaid time off (PTO) is available to use as vacation orsick leave. PTO may be accrued and carried over atthe end of the year up to240 total accumulativehours after 1 year.

CompensationPayment of wages is made by direct deposit everyother Friday. Performance reviews are prepared atyearly anniversaries. Merit pay increases may begiven at any time as circumstances warrant

Tuition AssistanceFull-time employees may be reimbursed forexpenses of pre-approved job-related courseworkcompleted at an accredited college or university, upto a limit of $1,000 per calendar year forundergraduate studies and $2,000 per calendar yearfor graduate studies. A grade of A or B is required toqualify for reimbursement. An employee whovoluntarily terminates employment within 1 year ofundergraduate level course completion or within 2years of graduate level course completion mustrefund to the Company the cost of anyreimbursement received.
