SEA Wire and Cable Junior Systems Administrator in Madison, Alabama
Job Summary
The Junior Systems Administrator will assist with installation, configuration and support of computer systems and associated peripherals. The Junior Systems Administrator will have a thorough knowledge of hardware, networks and operating systems in addition to excellent listening and communication skills. Analytical and problem-solving abilities will be required to solve technical problems quickly and efficiently. Integrity and leadership will be utilized to ensure security and privacy of networks, computer systems and staff.
Responsibilities and Duties
Installing and configuring computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and scanners
Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks
Responding in a timely manner to service issues and requests
Providing technical support across the company (this may be in person or over the phone)
Setting up accounts for new users and terminating access for out processing
Repairing and replacing equipment as necessary
Testing new technology
Document and maintain inventory
Diagnose hardware and software issues
Document and update tickets and technical documentation
Support with technical issues between our staff and external items
Exposure to discussion, planning and implementation of all technologies
Working directly with IT management to identify, resolve and document various technical challenges
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field, preferred
3+ years’ experience in computer networks and systems maintenance, preferred
2+ years’ experience on current network operating systems, preferred
CompTIA A+, Network+, Cisco or Microsoft certification, preferred
A technical, logical thought process
Problem-solving skills
An ability to stick to strict deadlines
An ability to prioritize and delegate
A keen eye for detail
Good communication skills
Ability to meet deadlines and manage stress effectively in high-pressure situations
Understanding of IT principles and an ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to a varied audience
Strong sense of discretion and confidentiality required
Mechanically inclined
Physical Requirements
Ability to squat, bend, and lift. Ability to lift 20-25lbs.
