JOB REQUIREMENTS: Description: The individual in this position will work with housing insecure youth to increase school engagement, independent living skills, housing stability, and social emotional wellness. They will also work with youth shelter staff to support activities and care for youth shelter residents. Duties: 1. Receives referrals from school staff to assist students who are identified as an unaccompanied youth experiencing homelessness and are regularly truant or otherwise disengaged from school. 2. Conducts intakes and assessments to identify student needs/goals and support youth in connecting to community resources. 3. Coordinates and provides mentorship and case management services to unaccompanied youth experiencing homelessness and housing insecure youth to increase opportunities for success in the areas of employment, academic achievement, independent living, awareness of community resources, housing stability, and improved relationships. 4. Coordinates the collection of information necessary to make accurate and timely reports to funding and/or regulatory agencies and completes/submits these reports in a timely manner. 5. Ensures client files are following agency policy regarding client documentation/reporting standards. 6. Conducts and organizes group skill development sessions as needed 7. Works with school district staff to support identified student needs, advocate for unaccompanied youth experiencing homelessness, and support the goal of increased school attendance and school engagement. 8. Participates in Youth Shelter Advocate training to support shelter services for youth on evening and weekends as needed. 9. Performs other related duties as assigned. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Experience Qualifications: Dedication to and experience working with youth/families. Prior experience working with vulnerable youth and knowledge of positive youth development and trauma informed care preferred.
