At Humana, IT Interns focus on a variety of projects and tasks designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the IT landscape within a leading healthcare organization. The program is designed to offer practical experience in areas including project management, agile methodologies, software engineering, cloud engineering, data science/analytics/visualization, user experience UI/UX, machine learning and cyber security initiatives.
The internship program is primarily hosted in-person at Humana’s Headquarters in Louisville, KY*, providing a rich experience of our corporate culture and direct mentorship from industry leaders.

The Intern acts as an apprentice while completing formal education. Decisions are typically focused on interpretation of area/department policy and methods for completing assignments. Works within defined parameters to meet work expectations and quality standards, but has some latitude over prioritization/timing, and works under minimal direction. Follows standard policies/practices that allow for some opportunity for interpretation/deviation and/or independent discretion.

Required Qualifications
Must be available to work full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 8am – 5pm Eastern Time, for 12-weeks from May 19 – August 8, 2025.
Participation in this internship requires that you are in the continental United States and able to work full-time at your assigned work-location.
Must not require sponsorship to work in the United States now or in the future.
Must be a current full-time undergraduate or graduate student with an expected graduation date of Summer 2028 or earlier.
Must be intellectually curious, flexible, as demonstrated through previous jobs, internships, and/or projects.
Must possess strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Be actively involved in on-campus and/or community activities.
Have a strong academic history, with a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA
Possess an interest in working in the healthcare industry.
Preferred Majors: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, Data Science, Cyber Security or related majors
Completed courses may include CS 101, MIS, Foundations of Computer Science, Fundamentals of CS, Intro courses, Data Structures, Algorithms, and Machine Learning
Technical qualifications may include C++, Java, HTML, SQL, C#, Python, Agile Framework, Project Management, Scrum Awareness, Data Science, Power BI, Salesforce, JavaScript, CSS, and Basic Programming skills, Full stack software engineers with cloud native skills, Digital (web and mobile) skills, Data gathering, and AI knowledge

Pay Range
The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
$31,200 - $85,100 per year
