Aston Carter Plant Controller in Madison, Wisconsin

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Plant Controller to manage the business reporting process and requirements. The role involves executing the month-end and year-end closing processes, supporting ad-hoc financial projects and analysis, and providing financial presentations as needed. The Plant Controller will also develop programs to improve growth objectives, operational efficiency, and business practices, while ensuring compliance with corporate and statutory requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the business reporting process and requirements.

  • Execute month-end and year-end closing processes.

  • Provide support for ad-hoc financial projects and analysis.

  • Develop programs to improve growth objectives and operational efficiency.

  • Ensure compliance with corporate and statutory policies and procedures.

  • Provide analysis and recommendations in areas such as operations, finance, and customer profitability.

  • Develop and monitor P&L forecasts and metrics to measure key performance indicators.

  • Review cycle count process and physical inventory efforts, and coordinate with outside auditors during year-end audits.

  • Support financial information technology initiatives and new system implementations.

  • Perform competitive analysis and provide guidance to the commercial team.

  • Create profitability accounting (business modeling) for projects.

  • Identify and resolve technical accounting issues and liaise with external auditors.

  • Research and evaluate transactions, business practices, and policies for compliance with accounting guidance.

  • Promote worker safety by assessing activities, stressing safe working practices, and assisting in safety audits.

  • Participate in the MOS process to identify cost reduction opportunities and streamline operations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.

  • 5+ years of manufacturing experience.

  • 5+ years of cost accounting experience.

  • Proficiency in inventory management, accounting, month-end and quarter-end close, reconciliation, and variance analysis.

  • Strong financial reporting, cost analysis, and budgeting skills.

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment with knowledge of ERP/manufacturing systems.

  • Understanding of customer and market segmentation.

  • Ability to work with sales to build value offers.

  • Management skills with a track record of mentoring and growing team members.

  • Strong financial planning and analysis skills.

  • Effective follow-through skills to ensure data accuracy.

Work Environment:

This role is within a manufacturing environment. The position offers a flexible hybrid work schedule with 2 days in the office, except during month-end and quarter-end close periods. Benefits include a 4% 401k match, 18 days of PTO (negotiable), 1 personal day, 8 paid holidays, and a 10% bonus based on company performance. There is room for growth as the company expands.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $130000.00

4% 401k match if they contribute 5%; 18 days PTO and 1 personal day; 8 paid holidays. Can send over their benefits package for a candidate to review as well.
